Filing a Copyright Notice
To submit a copyright or DMCA-style notice, please include the following:
- identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed;
- identification of the material you believe is infringing, including the exact URL or page location;
- your name and contact information, including an email address;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, where applicable, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner;
- your physical or electronic signature.
Notices should be sent using the contact information or contact page provided by NerdCave.
Review Process
After receiving a sufficiently detailed notice, NerdCave may:
- review the claim;
- request clarification or additional information;
- remove or disable access to the material in question;
- notify the affected party when appropriate.
NerdCave reserves the right to remove content at its discretion while a claim is under review.
Counter Notice
If you believe content was removed or disabled in error, you may submit a counter notice that includes:
- identification of the removed material and its prior location;
- your name and contact information;
- a statement, made in good faith, that the material was removed because of mistake or misidentification;
- a statement that you consent to the legal process applicable to the claim, where required;
- your physical or electronic signature.
NerdCave may review the counter notice and decide whether restoration of the material is appropriate.
Repeat Infringement
Where appropriate, NerdCave may restrict, remove, or refuse publication of material from parties who repeatedly submit infringing content.
False Claims
Submitting knowingly false or misleading infringement claims or counter notices may expose the sender to legal liability. Only submit a notice if you are confident in your claim.
